Bnei Dekalim was established in 2009 by former residents of Neve Dekalim, a settlement in the Gaza Strip evacuated during Israel's disengagement in 2005. The community's name, meaning 'Sons of Dekalim,' reflects its founders' connection to their previous home. Initial infrastructure development, including streets and lot divisions, was completed by 2011, and the first families began residing in mobile homes in 2013. Permanent housing followed shortly thereafter, marking a significant milestone in the community's growth.
