CITY HISTORY & DEVELOPMENT
Holit was initially established in 1978 as a Nahal settlement near Yamit in the Sinai Peninsula. Following the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty in 1979, which required Israel to evacuate its settlements in Sinai, Holit was re-established in 1982 at its current location in the Hevel Shalom region of southwestern Israel. The kibbutz has since developed a community and economy, focusing on agriculture and industry.
