Negohot | Next Year, You’ll Be Relaxing on Your Balcony

The settlement that began as a pioneering Nahal outpost has become the gem of the Lachish region.

Once, Negohot was considered a tiny, far-flung settlement where only the bravest pioneers lived in caravans, and the road leading there felt like the end of the world.

But much has changed over the years. The lights of the Hebron Hills and Lachish region now shine bright, and today, Negohot is a completely different place. No longer a collection of caravans, it has transformed into a young, dynamic community with a diverse and thriving population. People choose to live here not just because they love the Land of Israel, but even more so because they cherish a high quality of life.

In recent years, the religious Zionist community has discovered the many advantages of the Lachish region, which is experiencing a surge in settlement and development—at prices still within reach for the average family. While Negohot officially falls under the Har Hebron Regional Council, geographically and culturally, it sits at the western edge of Lachish, close to Kiryat Gat, Lachish, Bnei Dekalim, and other nearby communities.

Negohot’s prime location and the newly built western access road provide a smooth 20-minute drive to Highway 6, Kiryat Gat, and the Plugot Junction. From there, it’s an easy connection south to Be’er Sheva, west to Ashkelon, or north to Ashdod. Residents can commute to the city for work in the morning and return in the afternoon to leave behind the traffic and stress, enjoying all the benefits of a close-knit community—peace, serenity, and breathtaking landscapes found in few places across Israel.
