Welcome to Hamra — a unique moshav perched on a high hill on the slopes of the Samarian Mountains. Our elevated location gives us a pleasant climate and refreshing breezes throughout the day, even during summer nights.

Thirty new private homes are set to be built in the moshav, and the first newcomers will receive a special gift — free rent for up to two years until their homes are ready. This is your chance to join a special community and design a home just as you’ve always dreamed.

Daily life

The moshav features three playgrounds, a bustling swimming pool, a sports field, and shaded seating areas that transform the public spaces into a shared living room. We actively involve residents in unique projects to beautify the moshav—renovating an old building or creating a cozy nook—and they enthusiastically participate. Our synagogue welcomes everyone, including secular residents, and shared events like Lag Ba’Omer bonfires, food stalls, and the traditional cheesecake competition on Shavuot bring us all together. At Hamra, everyone finds their place—from lawyers and accountants to farmers growing spices, dates, and grapes. Our lychee greenhouses and organic tea farm are regional points of pride. The agricultural association manages 400 dunams of date orchards, field crops, chicken coops, and solar energy systems. We also have ornamental fish farms, an international agricultural farm, a therapeutic riding center, and even ventures in cosmetics and wellness. Our doors are always open to new entrepreneurs.

Education

Our children benefit from the excellent educational institutions of the Jordan Valley, and the local girls’ ulpana has earned a stellar reputation with over 80 students. A private daycare provides peace of mind for working parents, while afternoons are filled with activities at the regional community center, complete with organized rides home. The culture committee ensures that informal education is just as high-quality as the formal.

Hamra is home to around 60 families, forming a diverse Israeli community living in perfect harmony. The veteran residents proudly share stories of the moshav's founding, while younger families bring a fresh energy of renewal. Religious and secular neighbors coexist naturally, with most of us coming from a pioneering background, united in building something new together.
