The Town of Neria Expands: Dozens of Families Have Joined the Warm Torah-Oriented Community in Binyamin
Neria, a thriving town in Binyamin blending active community life with a religious atmosphere, is growing and welcoming new families
The town of Neria in Binyamin continues to grow, welcoming new residents as Harei Zahav constructs 168 housing units for those seeking vibrant community life combined with a religious, Torah-oriented lifestyle.
Michal Gutman, Neria’s Youth and Culture Coordinator, explains: “The town has 420 families and has grown significantly in recent years. People here are kind to one another, and the community provides incredible support both in joyful moments, thank God, and during challenges. There’s a real sense of being embraced.”
“There’s an amazing social life here,” she adds. “We have performances for children, dedicated youth coordinators, youth rooms with weekly activities, and, of course, plenty to do on weekends when the youth return from their yeshivot and ulpanot. There are also varied activities for adults, like women’s, men’s, and couples’ evenings.”
Neria, situated in central Israel, offers its residents Torani institutions for all ages and solutions for daily needs. “We’re the largest town in the Dolev-Talmonim bloc. Our central location means many services converge here—for example, we have Maccabi and Leumit health clinics,” Gutman notes.
She also highlights the commercial center: “There’s a large stock store, a massive hardware store, and a grocery that attracts shoppers from surrounding towns. We also have a pizzeria that delivers across the area. Plus, we offer a variety of Torah-based educational institutions for everyone.”
Reut Nahum, a Neria resident who works for Harei Zahav marketing the town’s second phase, praises the area’s natural beauty: “Just look where we are. We’re surrounded by nature, it’s lush, and yet we’re only 20 minutes from Modi’in. The location is unbeatable—45 minutes to Tel Aviv, 45 minutes to Jerusalem. At the same time, the entire town is enveloped by greenery year-round.”
Aviv Weiss, a Neria resident, reflects on his experience: “We arrived a year and a half ago to this wonderful town. We’re enjoying every moment here. It’s a warm, supportive, religious, high-quality, and value-driven community. There’s a diversity of people, yet everyone is Torah-oriented. We have excellent educational institutions, Torah classes, chavrutot , and a positive atmosphere of learning, friendship, and serving God with joy.”
During the current war, Neria families felt the community’s warm and supportive embrace. “I wasn’t home during the war,” Weiss shares. “It was really tough. My wife was here alone with the kids for three straight months. But we were blessed with a wonderful community that surrounded my family with help for Shabbat, meals, pampering evenings for reservists’ wives, and activities for the kids.”
Gutman adds: “During the war, we saw the community come together, rallying around the families of those called up for reserve duty, supporting the women and children who remained here. Families received help with cleaning, childcare, home maintenance, laundry, and meals. Four months into the war, we were still offering Shabbat meals to women who found it hard to manage alone.”
Neria is excited to welcome new neighbors as the town expands. “I invite anyone seeking a high-quality, Torah-oriented, value-driven town to come to Neria. This is the right place,” says Aviv Weiss.
Michal Gutman emphasizes: “Beyond the beauty of this place, it’s a great privilege to live here in the western Binyamin region, strengthening our connection to the land and our resilience in these challenging times. I invite everyone to come, see, and be part of this amazing project.”
Reut Nahum concludes: “Harei Zahav has played an active role in the town’s development. We built, populated, and marketed Phase 1, and we’re now fully engaged in marketing Phase 2. There’s a range of housing options to meet diverse needs, with different designs and price points. Come and see for yourselves—quality of life is no longer a foreign concept for the Torah-oriented community.”
